Ukraine said it had shot down six hypersonic missiles fired at Kyiv overnight in a significant blow to Russia’s advanced weaponry.

The next-generation weapons, each costing about $4 million, are believed to have been shot down by Patriot-MIM 104 missile systems provided by the west.

The six “Daggers” were part of an “exceptionally complex” bombardment of the capital by 18 missiles of three different types and a wave of kamikaze drones, Ukrainian officials said.
