Pep Guardiola: Champions League win would make City spell complete

Spaniard says his title-winners must lift Europe’s biggest prize to be considered true greats

Pep Guardiola claimed his players are the talk of the footballing world but admitted that Manchester City must win the Champions League to be considered one of the greatest teams of all time.

City lifted the Premier League trophy after sealing a fifth title in six years under Guardiola, but they have come up short so far in Europe.

They face Inter Milan in the Champions League final in Istanbul on June 10 and are on track for the Treble, with an FA Cup final against Manchester United seven days earlier at Wembley.

Guardiola hailed his team’s triumph but admitted that his time in English football would not be “complete” unless he wins Europe’s biggest club honour.

“Of course, we have to win in Europe,
