Ollie Robinson has provided England with yet another fast bowling injury scare ahead of the summer’s Tests — the first of which starts against Ireland at Lord’s on Thursday week — when a sore ankle cut short his involvement in Sussex’s championship match with Glamorgan at Hove. He is to go for a scan on Monday.
Robinson reported feeling something in his left ankle on Friday evening after bowling nine overs in two spells that day, but after consultation with the England camp it was agreed that he could bowl one spell on Saturday — chiefly, it seems, because Robinson was feeling discomfort when he walked but not when he ran.
