The BBC presenter Naga Munchetty has revealed she is often left screaming in agony due to a debilitating womb condition that has caused her a “lifetime of pain”.

The 48-year-old broadcaster was diagnosed with adenomyosis eight months ago after suffering with symptoms including extreme period pain since she was a teenager.

On her BBC Radio 5 Live show, Munchetty told listeners that her husband had to call an ambulance for her this weekend after a severe flare up.

“The pain was so terrible I couldn’t move, turn over, sit up. I screamed non-stop for 45 minutes,” she said.
