“There’s something about asking clever people really simple questions that can be very enlightening,” Jimmy McLoughlin, a former government adviser, said of the perks of hosting his weekly business podcast Jobs of the Future.

“When we asked the then chancellor of the exchequer, Rishi Sunak, to define what his role is he split it into two: the fiscal, technical, finance side and driving economic growth and living standards. Even though I’ve been in politics myself for 15 years it made me look at it in an entirely new way.”
