Everton owner Farhad Moshiri has signed an exclusivity agreement with American company MSP Sports Capital as he seeks investment to complete funding for the club’s new stadium.

Moshiri has been in talks with MSP since January when its Iranian-American chairman Jahm Najafi and CEO Jeff Moorad attended Everton’s home game with Southampton.

Moshiri, the British-Iranian billionaire, knows MSP personally and it already has stakes in five European clubs: Augsburg, Brondby, Alcorcón, Estoril Praia and Beveren. No deal has been agreed as yet but discussions are not linked to Everton’s bid for Premier League survival.
