Another ‘summer of independence’ highlights SNP’s political bankruptcy

Despite it often being attributed to him, there is no evidence Mahatma Gandhi ever said: “First they ignore you, then they laugh at you, then they fight you, then you win.”

A version of this comforting mantra was actually uttered in 1914 by an American trade unionist called Nicholas Klein: “First they ignore you. Then they ridicule you. And then they attack you and want to burn you.
