Air pollution harms people from before they are born through to old age, and there is no safe level of traffic fumes, a report has said.

In the most comprehensive review on the impact of air pollution to date, researchers at Imperial College London drew on data from 35,000 studies published in the past ten years.

The study was commissioned by the Greater London Authority, which said the findings supported plans by Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, to expand the ultra-low emission zone across all London boroughs.
